the expedition
A two-day ascent to mainland Portugal's highest point, along different paths from previous editions. Forests with waterfalls and glacial rock pools on the first day, and the summit climb at sunrise on the second.
Do you love long crossings? Do you like getting to know and climbing mountains? Then this is for you.
Our most recent trips into Serra da Estrela were a success in every sense: participants got to know what the Estrela really is, and the surprise was such that they started looking at this mountain differently. We want to keep showing what this territory holds, so we are running another ascent along different paths and different landscapes, entirely new and just as striking.
Anyone who has come with us knows we like to surprise, to teach, and to take people to places they had not imagined. This two-day activity works on several levels, physical as well as mental.
A glimpse of where we will be going: glacial rock pools, have you heard of them? Gorges carved into stone? And a village named after a head? That is only part of what we will see, cross and live through.

the itinerary
Day 1
We start right next to Serra do Açor, at the beginning of Serra da Estrela, where we walk through magnificent forests with several waterfalls and natural rock pools, discovering wildlife and lesser-known mountain spots.
This is a day of forests, water and levadas, through a mountain very different from the second day.
Finally, we arrive at our accommodation where we rest until dinner.

Day 2
This is a day that, although quite exhausting, leaves you with a real sense of achievement.
We leave at sunrise from the accommodation towards the highest point of a mountain that will give us many stories to tell.
A day where the group supports and respects each other even more, through the effort and the dedication.

We did a two-day trek. Incredible landscapes. A very committed and friendly guide. A beautiful, demanding route, especially Loriga up to the top of the range. Excellent value for money. I'd do it all again.
Today we did a four-hour 4x4 tour of Serra da Estrela and it was simply wonderful. Sérgio was a flawless guide — knowledgeable, calm, and with that respect for the mountain that only someone who truly feels it can pass on. He took us along tracks that tell old stories and made us feel we were discovering it all for the first time.
The tour was perfect! We got to see Serra da Estrela through places that are beautiful and well off the usual route. Sérgio really cares about giving guests a different experience, and he looks after everyone's wellbeing and safety. Our family highly recommends this activity!
