Is the €250 sunset tour priced per person or per jeep?

Per jeep, up to 4 people. A couple and a group of four pay the same. For larger groups we open a second jeep, up to a maximum of 8 people per session.

What time does the sunset tour start and finish?

Pick-up is at 14:00 and you are back at the starting point by 18:00 — four hours in total. The guide adjusts the route through the year so you reach the viewpoint at the hour the sun actually sets that day.

What is included in the mountain tasting at the end?

Regional wine, Serra da Estrela cheese, cured meats and homemade bread, served at a viewpoint only reachable by 4x4. It is included in the price of the jeep.

Do I need previous experience?

No. Our activities are designed for all levels. The guide adapts the pace and difficulty to the group, so anyone in reasonable physical condition can join.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We assess conditions in the 24h before. If it's unsafe to go ahead, we'll reschedule or fully refund. Light rain usually doesn't cancel — the mountain is beautiful under clouds too.

How do I book and pay?

Book through the online form or WhatsApp. We confirm availability within 24 hours. Payment is made after confirmation via bank transfer or MB Way — nothing is charged before we confirm.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 48h before the activity, with full refund. Within 48h, the date can be changed subject to availability.

What languages are the activities run in?

Our guides run the activities in Portuguese and English. If you would prefer another language, tell us when booking and we will confirm availability.

Are the activities suitable for people with reduced mobility?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the activity. The 4x4 tours and the Douro boat tours are the most accessible, since most of the time is spent in the vehicle or on board, with short stops. Trails and night hikes involve uneven ground. Talk to us before booking and we will point you to the best option.

For experiences that include a meal or tasting, tell us about any dietary restrictions when booking. We confirm them in advance with the local producers and restaurants we work with.

How many people per jeep?

Max 4 adults per jeep on shared tours. On private tours your group has the jeep to itself (up to 2 jeeps / 8 people).

Where do we meet? Is there a transfer?

Usual meeting points are Guarda, Manteigas, Seia, Covilhã or Penhas Douradas. Private groups can request hotel pickup within the Serra.

Absolutely. It's one of the best ways to discover the mountain, especially areas that aren't accessible otherwise — viewpoints, glacial lakes and remote villages you couldn't easily reach in a regular car.

Yes. All tours run with proper off-road vehicles driven by experienced local guides, with full activity insurance included.

Both. We offer private experiences (Sunset, Sunrise and Full Day — the jeep is just for your group) and a Shared Tour, ideal for meeting other travellers at a more accessible price.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes, closed shoes and, depending on the season, a warm layer or rain jacket. We also recommend sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera.

How much does a 4x4 tour in Serra da Estrela cost?

Prices range from €70 per person (3h Shared Tour) to €500 per jeep up to 4 people (8h Full Day with lunch). Sunset is €250 and Sunrise €190 per jeep (up to 4 people).
